HOW TO INSPIRE MANNERS IN YOUR CHILDREN

HOW TO INSPIRE MANNERS IN YOUR CHILDREN.*
1.
_When entering the house greet your children or even hug them. This should help develop their sense of love and self worth._
2.
_Be good to your neighbours and never backbite. Never speak ill of other drivers when on the road. Your children would listen, absorb and emulate._
3.
_When calling your parents, encourage your children to speak to them. When visiting your parents take your children with you. The more they see you take care of your parents the more they will learn to take care of you._
4.
_When driving them to school, don't always play albums or cds in the car. Rather, tell them some motivational stories yourself. This will have a greater impact - trust me!_
5.
_Read to them a short story and even a scripture a day – it doesn't take much time, but very impactful in creating strong bonds and wonderful memories._
6.
_Comb your hair, clean your teeth and wear presentable cloths even if sitting at home and not going out for the day. They need to learn that being clean and tidy has nothing to do with going out!_
7.
_Try not to blame or comment on every word or action they say or do. Learn to overlook and let go sometimes. This certainly builds their self-confidence._
8.
_Ask your children's permission before entering their rooms. Don't just knock and enter, but then wait for a verbal permission. They will learn to do the same when wanting to enter your room._
9.
_Apologize to your children if you made a mistake. Apologizing teaches them to be humble and polite._
10.
_Don't be sarcastic or make fun of their views or feelings, even if you "didn't mean it" and was "only joking". It really hurts._
11.
_Show respect to your children's privacy. Its important for their sense of value and self-esteem._
12.
_Don't expect that they will listen or understand the first time. Don't take it personal. But be patient and consistent._
13.
_Pray with them. Show them how to pray. Lead by example._
14.
_In addition, ask them to discuss their daily plans after the morning prayers. Children without concrete daily plans  usually join others in executing theirs. They fall easy to peer pressure._
15.
_Hold them and bless them specially every morning._
16.
_Always tell beautiful stories about your home town and village.  Make them look forward to visiting there._
_Remember other parents may need this, why keep it to yourself...! Kindly share further please._

Panchkanya concept

Panchakanya
concept- The five elemental women in Indian epics.

It is for every woman to study the life-graphs and personalities of the Panchkanyas and decide which element they empathise with.
However, in truth, every Indian woman has shades all the Panchkanyas within her soul!
In spite of this, the Panchkanya theme has inspired Indian women for ages.
They believe that even today, they have great affinity to each elemental woman by the way they look, feel or react to the world around them.
Most Indian women believe that they tolerate and accept the worst kind of injustice  and remain steadfast in their duty and devotion to their husbands and families.
Yet, surprisingly, they also hide storms of anguish, anger and revenge in their hearts.
They believe that the curse of a virtuous, strong woman can ruin the most powerful of men.
They live a life of duality, with the turbulence of varied experiences on the surface and a deep, silent core in their souls, where wisdom originates.
They have an inherent gift of distinguishing between right and wrong.
In a crisis, they know how to insist on doing what they consider right.
They have a dormant power buried deep down in their psyches.
They have the strength to move like the wind and the compassion to forgive wrongs done to them. They seek a special lustre of their own.
They seek a sacred place - which is their right - in the vastness of space.
From this niche, they spread their compassion and tenderness.
We Indians believe that between the real and the divine worlds, there is a mid-level world of mythology.
Here, mythical heroes and heroines play out stories of love, valour, courage and righteousness as well as revenge, hatred and mindless cruelty.
Five women from the Indian epics – Ramayana and Mahabharata – have played such crucial roles in our tradition, that every Indian woman, even in this tech-savvy age, continues to be influenced by their life-graphs…
With the International Women’s Day on March 8 today,  it is time to remember the Panchakanyas and see how Indian women relate to them even today!
As inheritors of the Panchkanya concept for centuries, Indian women are unique, to say the least. Like their icons, they have dual personalities.
They are bound by the strictest norms of society on the one hand; yet on the other hand, they are left free to prolifically use the chinks in the armour of social and traditional laws made by a staunchly male-oriented pecking order.
Within the scope of social boundaries, they can still express their personalities and design their own life-graphs.
The female icons set up by Indian tradition for women to follow therefore are admirable and confusing at the same time.
Among the feminine icons of Indian tradition, five epic characters stand out prominently.
Each of these women is described as extraordinarily beautiful and virtuous.
As a matter of fact, tradition says that their character was so strong, that no calamity could diminish their spiritual power or their worshipful places in the hearts of generations of people the world over.
In fact, the five women have such a powerful hold over the hearts of millions of Indians that they are called the Panchkanyas (five women) whose very names ensure salvation and freedom from all evil.
It is not uncommon for devout our Hindu brothers and sisters to recite their names each morning in a Sanskrit Shloka to remind them of the power they symbolised because of their purity of character and spiritual strength.
In an uncanny way, the life-graph of each of these women is somehow replicated in the lives of millions of Indian women even today.
Whatever suffering and traumas each of them went through during their lives, are repeated in the lives of millions of Indian women. It is clear that Indian society, at its deepest core, still thinks that man is born to rule and woman to be ruled!
Who are these Panchkanyas - The five elemental women.
Let's see one by one with the evidence of our great epics.
1. Her Holiness SITA DEVI
Janaka, the King of Mithila, as is well known, found Sita while his fields were being ploughed. She is the wonderful daughter of the earth, stable, forgiving, patient and pure. Most Indian women believe that they tolerate and accept the worst kind of injustice like Her Holiness Sita Devi and remain steadfast in their duty and devotion to their husbands and families.
2. Her Holiness Draupadi
Draupadi was the copper-toned beauty born of fire. Fiery, gorgeous and strong-willed, Draupadi was born out of her father’s prayer for revenge against his enemies. She personified this quality throughout her life. Most Indian women surprisingly, like Draupadi, they also hide storms of anguish, anger and revenge in their hearts.
They believe that the curse of a virtuous, strong woman can ruin the most powerful of men
3. Her Holiness Mandodari
Mandodari, the wife of Ravana, is associated with the element of water, turbulent on the surface yet deep and silent in her spiritual quest. The beautiful Mandodari tolerated the misdeeds of Ravana till his death. Like Mandodari, our Indian women live a life of duality, with the turbulence of varied experiences on the surface and a deep, silent core in their souls, where wisdom originates.
Like Mandodari, they have an inherent gift of distinguishing between right and wrong.
In a crisis, they know how to insist on doing what they consider right.
4. Her Holiness Ahilya
Ahilya is the beautiful wife of a Sage Gautama, whom Indra, the chief of the gods, coveted.
He cheated her by assuming the persona of her husband and seduced her.
Angry beyond reason, Gautama cursed her and turned her into a rock.
Upon hearing the truth, he pronounced the Rama, during his banishment in the forest, would touch her with his sacred feet and would bring her back to life.
Ahilya, admired by women for her forbearance and ethereal nature is likened to the freshness and active nature of the wind. Like Ahliya, our Indian women have a dormant power buried deep down in their psyches.
They have the strength to move like the wind and the compassion to forgive wrongs done to them.
5. Her Holiness Tara
Tara, wife of the monkey king Bali, was also a woman of great virtue.
Bali was a tyrant who usurped his brother Sugriva’s kingdom and abducted his wife Ruma.
He died a valiant death at the hands of Rama and left Tara to live piously for the rest of her life.
Tara is associated with space and has the quality of intelligence, compassion and large-heartedness.
Like Tara, Indian women seek a special lustre of their own.
They seek a sacred place - which is their right - in the vastness of space.
From this niche, they spread their compassion and tenderness.
It is for every woman to study the life-graphs and personalities of the Panchkanyas and decide which element they empathise with.
However, in truth, every Indian woman has shades all the Panchkanyas within her soul!

Why Don't Roman Catholics Sing the hallelujah During Lent?

How the Lenten Season Is Observed
Lent is the Christian season of preparation before Easter. The Lenten season is a time when many Christians observe a period of fasting, repentance, moderation, self-denial and spiritual discipline. The purpose is to set aside time for reflection on Jesus Christ—his suffering and his sacrifice, his life, death, burial, and resurrection.
Why Don't Roman Catholics Sing the hallelujah During Lent?
During Lent, however, our focus is on the Kingdom coming, not on the Kingdom already having come.
The readings in the Masses for Lent and in the Liturgy of the Hours (the official daily prayer of the Catholic Church) focus heavily on the spiritual journey of Old Testament Israel toward the coming of Christ, and the salvation of mankind in His death on Good Friday and His Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Christians today are on a spiritual journey as well, toward the Second Coming of Christ and our future life in Heaven.
In order to emphasize the penitential nature of that journey, the Catholic Church, during Lent, removes the hallelujah from the Mass.
Hallelujah ...... Alleluia.
Both are of the same literal and Biblical meaning.

Never borrow from the future.

Never borrow from the future.
If u worry about what may happen tomorrow
and  it doesn't happen,
u have worried in vain.
Even if it does happen,
you have to worry twice!!
*40* BEAUTIFUL ADVICES
TO CHANGE UR LIFE
"If you are waiting for that one person to change your life....take a look in the mirror"
"Your life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change."
Change urself to change your world
1. Get up early so u can start the day unrushed & gain on barakah & productivity. Fajr should always be ur first priority.
2. Begin each day remembering اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala, thanking Him & praising Him.
3. Plan ur day in advance preferably the night before . Make the 5 daily salaah the most important parts of ur daily planner.
4. Say No to projects that won't fit into ur time schedule, or that will compromise ur mental & spiritual health.
5. Delegate tasks to capable others. Don't burden urself with too much.
6. Simplify & unclutter ur life. Less is always more. In simplicity there is beauty.
7. When u make appointments & promises, stick to them. Remember ur most important appointments are with ur Lord 5 times a day. Make sure u show up on time for these very important appointments.
8. Dont take on too much all at once. Pace urself. Spread out big changes & difficult projects over time; don't lump the hard things all together.
9. Take one day at a time. When challenges come ur way, accept them as all part of اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala's plan & meet them head on. Handle with dua, sadaqa & ur best efforts & then leave the rest to اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala.
10. Separate worries from concerns.
If a situation is a concern, find out what اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala would have u do & let go of the anxiety . If u can't do anything about a situation, leave it in His 'hands' & let go...move on
11. Live within ur budget; don't use credit cards if u can't meet full payment before interest kicks in. If u can't afford something , first recognise if its a need or want . If it's necessary
save for it instead of borrowing money. Refrain from asking others for help unless u are really desperate in a life & death situation.
12. Have backups; an extra car key in ur wallet, an extra house key buried in the garden, important phone numbers 2nd information written down, etc.
13. 'K.M.S.' (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
K.M.S when u know opening it will land u in trouble.
K.M.S when angry & swallow ur anger instead.
K.M.S if u can't say something nice.
14. Do something for the child in u everyday. Sing..play in the rain...step into a puddle..swing..play games..jump on the bed ( just kidding; please check with ur doctor first)
Be light hearted ...smile often ( if u don't know how- practise smiling looking into the mirror)
15. Carry a book with u to read while waiting in queues. Even better carry a pocket Qur'an or download the app.
16. Get sufficient rest. Ur body has a right over u.Listen to ur body telling u when it's tired. Don't make looking into the phone the last thing u do before going to sleep.
17. Eat healthy & wholesome. Too much junk & takeaway food is bad for ur spiritual & physical heart.
18. Feed ur mind with beneficial knowledge. Be careful about the type of media u expose urself to. Guard ur eyes & ears which are the windows & gates to ur heart.
19. Get organized so everything has its place.
20. Listen to a beneficial tape/CD while driving that can help improve ur quality of life.
21. Write down thoughts & inspirations.
- Keep a gratitude journal & list down a minimum of 3 things u are grateful for everyday.
-Keep a Qur'an journal where u daily jot down an ayat of the Qur'an with its meaning & a short explanation how it applies/ will apply to ur life.
- Keep a sunnah journal where u list the sunnahs that u practise , adding one more at the beginning of each week.
22. Every day, find time to be alone. Sit in silence....think about the purpose of life ...reflect on urself ..how to better ur character..how to be a better Muslim..meditate on اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala's Glorious attributes & Names.
23. Having problems?
Turn mess-ups into messages & messengers from اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala....what is the lesson my اَللّهُ is trying to give me.
Talk to اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala. Ask Him to inspire u with what to do & to open doors & grant ease. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don't over think & overanalyze.
24. Make friends with people that remind u of اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala. Keep good company. Stay away from toxic people that bring u down. Most importantly become ur own best friend- do what makes ur soul happy -do what it takes to make urself into a better human being, one that اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala is pleased with- talk to urself like how ur best friend would.
25. Keep a folder of the Surahs that u read daily. Increase ur knowledge by learning it's tafseer.
26. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair & hope is often a good ; 'Thank You- shukran my Almighty Allâh. Alhamdulilah for everything- the good & the bad - the happy & the sad- just ALHAMDULILAH.
27. Laugh.
28. Laugh some more! ( but within limits because none of us are getting out of this life alive)
29. Take ur work seriously & put in ur best efforts but do not take urself seriously at all. The outcome of everything always lies with اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala.
30. Develop a forgiving & tolerant attitude & always look out for the good in people (most people are doing the best they can & are fighting battles we know nothing about).
31. Be kind to unkind people (they probably need it the most). Increase in love & spreading happiness. Care..share..give..& give some more.
32. Sit on ur ego. There is no 'I' & 'me'. Those are words invented by shaytaan. We are only slaves of اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala.. Our elevation to greater heights lie in serving Him & His creation.
33. Talk less; listen more. Words are silver but silence is gold. Listen with the intent to really hear & not to only reply.
34. Slow down. Smell the coffee u drink every morning... Feel the water when u shower...notice the colour of the sky..hear the chirp of the birds & rustling of the wind. Be amazed. Subhan Allah. Breathe in... & slowly breathe out . Alhamdulilah for each life- giving breath.
Live ur life consciously not like a robot going through the motions automatically.
35. Remind urself that u are not the General Manager of the universe. Do what u have to do sincerely with love & let others follow their own journeys in life.
36. Don't ever despair & lose hope. Ur Creator & Lord is thee most Mighty & Powerful. He's created u with the potential to do great stuff & to be an important piece in someone else's life. As long as u are striving to be obedient to Him, u are adding value to this life.
37. Stop comparing urself to others. Stop competing with others. The only competition u should be in is with urself. Am I a better human & Muslim than I was yesterday.
38. Every night 'Balance ur books!!'
Reflect on the day gone by....make Shukr for the favours of thy Lord; repent & regret on ur shortcomings. Remind urself what a Loving & Merciful Lord u have. This will allow u to seriously think about how imperfect u are & that there is hope & light for u no matter how far u stray.
39. Just as ur first thoughts in the morning should be about اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala, never go to sleep without mentioning اللَّهُ Subhana wa Ta'ala.
40. Sleep with Wudhu - its a Sunnah & has numerous blessings. UTTER THE TESTIMONY OF FAITH....who knows if the breath u take at night could be ur last breath for good!!
· اللهم إني أسألك رِضَاك.
Allahumma inni us alooka ridawka
Oh اَللّهُ, change me until I am
someone You are pleased
with.

Karma

KARMA
A small story which beautifully illustrates that what you sow, you reap.
Once upon a time there was a small time business man from a small village who used to sell butter in the nearby town.
A big shop owner in the town was his regular customer.
The villager used to deliver every month the shop owner the required butter in 1 kg blocks and in turn he used to get grocery items like sugar, pulses etc from the big shop owner.
Once the shop owner decided to weigh the butter and to his surprise every block of butter weighed 900 gms.
instead of 1kg.
Next month when the villager came to deliver  butter,
the angry shop owner told him how he was cheated and told to leave the shop.
To this the villager replied to him courteously,
Sir,
I am a very poor villager.
I don't have enough money to even buy the required weights for weighing the butter.
I usually put the 1kg sugar you give me on one side of weighing scale and weigh butter on another side.
This simple story very beautifully illustrates that what we give to others comes back to us.
That is karma!
